Are These 'Old Britts' Brackets Still Available?

Thanks for the info chaps, and thanks Marinatlas for the RGM link! I use them all the time and never spotted that bracket. I've ordered it!

Hopefully, you are aware that's a repair bracket for the perforated airbox side panel so needs to be riveted or otherwise fixed (glued/bolted?) to a Mk3 panel (and you will need the pre-Mk3 Dzus fastener).

I realise it will need some modification to work with my setup, but it's almost there, rather than starting from scratch.

You may be better to fab a bracket that does away with the Dzus fastener and replace it with a bolt. Original L/H mk3 side covers are very hard to find nowadays and that may have something to do with all of them falling off due to the stock Dzus fastener. 🤔

I think that MK3 airbox and filter is a really good arrangement, not sure why people do away with them. The change certainly won't make the bike go faster.
It might even slow it down a bit if the really skinny K&N is used.

I used the Old Brits bracket on my first Commando and it worked perfectly. Was hoping to do the same with my current rebuild MK3, but no luck so far.

I bought the Norvil bracket for my MK3... didn't fit, not close. Exchanged emails with Les who eventually confirmed, yes, they don't fit and require a modification, something about adding more bends, something about a bad batch. I haven't gotten around to messing with it... no idea whether I can make it work, sucks.

@bilco ... I'm in the middle of rebuilding my MK3... yours looks great! I'd love to see more pictures of yours, perhaps on the picture thread if they aren't posted already.

Thanks!

And thanks for the reminder, I've just uploaded some pictures!

Here's my homemade bracket out of brass stock

Larry, I would keep your eye on that. Brass is not good at handling fatigue (vibration etc) and if it breaks you’ll make a real mess of that nice cover …
I’ll keep an eye on it for sure. It’s actually pretty thick stuff, I don’t think I’ll have an issue.
