1971 750 Commando Roadster. Dead and forgotten for a known 30 years. Scavenged from, horribly abused and poorly maintained by owners that saw no value at the time.
As of last week she runs smooth and strong. Starts right up once I figured out the eccentricities. I'm getting the most perfect brown color on both plugs. I couldn't be more pleased. I still have a good size list of details, but she's running, and legal. Just enough time to put some miles on the break-in oil before cold weather.
Thanks to everyone here that helped me problem solve issues. Really great support and made the project more fun.

Every nut and bolt came apart. Parts were cleaned, repaired to 100% or replaced.
Crank was balanced at 59% (I believe) with new oversized pistons, journal bearings and superblends on both sides.
Top end is all new except the rocker arms.
Combat heads
New twin 32mm Amals
Rebuilt transmission
Rebuilt primary
Can't begin to list it all.

I believe that's a Triumph headlight. It was in one of the boxes. Ammeter works.

I split the electrical into 3 circuits. Added a Podtronics rectifier/ regulator, Lithium battery and a Power Arc electronic ignition. I plumed an SV650 reed breather from the timing side to share the oil tank inlet with the cam breather.

Priorities change

Looking good mate but you should have kept the original Renold rear chain rather than the chunky monkey now on it.

I hope it gets ridden instead of being used as an ornament.

Keep up the good wotk.

I like the fuse block. Where did you get that?

I have a fuse box just like that and purchased it at NAPA Auto Parts. The part number is NW 720224 http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/C...ock-Mini-Fuse-Blocks/_/R-NW_720224_0282529037

Where did you source the battery strap from?
The strap is from Ace hardware store. You'll need to cut slots in front and behind your battery to loop the strap around the battery tray and battery. I also use a big patch of Velcro behind the battery for extra stability.
