I put this up on Facebook, but not here. We are currently testing a Mark III sprag upgrade. We had been approached in the past to come up with fix for a problem in the sprag on the Mark III's. We analyzed failures from components we were sent.
Our fix is a new sprocket and sprag gear made out of better material and heat treat process. We found a sprag (with information from another Norton component supplier) that has a more robust design in an area on the sprag that we considered week.
Kit will also come with new needle bearing and bushing that the needle bearing rides on.
Sprag gear and sprocket will come with a limited 5 year warranty. If the area that the sprag engages is ever damaged we will replace at no charge. This means if you loose a sprag bearing you will not need to replace the sprocket or gear (as stated above, we believe the new sprag bearing will have less failures than the existing model). But if you run the primary dry, break a primary chain and damage the sprocket, loose a screw in the primary and it breaks the gear, it will not be covered.
The kit is currently being tested in shop, and by 3 Beta testers in the field
