Not sure why the Dunstall reference? The Lowboy was a factory bike and what is normally seen as a Dunstall frame is a totally different animal.

Yes it’s a kinda unnecessary reference IMHO.

IIRC Dunstall bought the entire Norton race shop contents, and subsequently campaigned the Lowboys for a while until he went in other directions.

Mick Hemmings is a much more relevant reference, it's his project to remake the frames that AN bought as part of the Sale of his stock.

The Dunstall Domiracer in Lowboy form raced a fair while longer than it did than when it was a Norton factory effort. Pickrell, Croxford and others had some decent results with it, mainly in 650cc form.
That frame that AN have had manufactured differs from both the Norton and Dunstall versions as it didn't have the brace tube to the headstock. I notice also that the cross tube is brazed to the frame at the headstock, I thought they'd discovered that it made it crack at that point if they did that.

Maybe not, as I have just looked at Mick's original Lowboy frame he won many races on and it is also welded, and clearly not cracked. If you look at the Dunstall catalogues you can see that the frames changed in various ways as well. We did not get the Dunstall frame made, it was going spare, the rest of the batch are now being campaigned.

I'm still pondering what to do with the Terry Meads replica of a Dunstall one I have, still unused.
If that one sells at that price I think I might know.
