I want to replace my old concentrics on the MK3 with the new Premier carbs from AMAL. But I can't find any information on them to fit the 850 Commando. I talked to the chap on the AMAL stand at the Stafford (UK) Classic Bike show last October, he said they 'forgot' to machine the flanges to suit commandos and were still waiting for a batch. He also said they had lots of inquiries for commandos and would have sold loads over the show weekend doh!! and their website doesn't show anything for a MK3.

Does anyone in the Norton collective have any insider info on what's going on with the premier range for MK3's?

I emailed them and this was their reply. They got back to me quickly.

Dear Mr Wolff,

The new Premier carburetters cost £116 each. Shipping to the States costs £35.00.
If we send them to an address in the UK we have to charge VAT at 20% which becomes more expensive than shipping them direct!
For the time being it will be best to order them by e-mail. Our website is about to be replaced as the existing format has proved too limited. When the new website is online it will be possible to order the new carbs by adding “Prem” to an existing specification number (932/31Prem & 932/32Prem).
Kind regards,

Cheers bwolfie for the rapid reply, its what makes this site so good. I will email them and see what they say, or phone could be quicker, but the guy on the stand didn't seem to know when they would be available, they might have pulled their finger out by now and got some in, I will keep you posted.

I spoke to Norvil about 10 days ago and the said they would have their first batch last week, I dont know whether they got them or not,

Did I read somewhere that they are only doing 30mm.
At this stage.
AC.

If you need a pair quickly, you could bore them out to 32mm and use the old jetting.

Cash.
