Amal Pilot Mod?

Found this video today of a chap modifying his new premiers with a pilot fuel pickup spigot. Seems he believes the float bowl is warped enough to lead to air leaking past bowl gasket near the pilot fuel feed through gasket to bowl passage.

Has anyone heard of doing such a thing?

As he admits he did not check the gasket surfaces were flat, that is the easier fix.

I can only see half the screen area.
