I have a 2015 Commando 961 SE.
Listened to you guys about checking the air box catch bottle. Well my bike does not have one!! I followed the hose from the bottom of the airbox & it just hangs down below the bike.
It is a little damp with oil at the end.
It looks like it was made this way because it is a very long hose. If it ended in a bottle it would need to be much shorter.
Either the hose was changed or this is the way it came stock. I bought it with 552 miles on it.

Bottle was added later (perhaps as part of Euro 4 package?).

If your bike is behaving itself, there’s no real point in having a bottle.

Standard ones are quieter small too. The frequency for emptying it can be extended by using a 1 gallon Walmart milk container instead. Note: empty the milk first...

Although there is an upgrade breather kit with a catch bottle, I've never had one. Instead, my dealership installed a wider diameter fitting and clear tubing that can be drained also. I like it better than some bottle hanging of my bike. That just looks lame. The tubing is undetectable.

Kid,

Your configuration is exactly how Norton delivered the early 961's.
The drain hose from the airbox is routed down to the lower frame member along with the tank vent hoses.
It drops oil if the drain plug is removed and there is oil in the airbox.
Otherwise, with the plug in place, the airbox can fill with oil to the point where is may foul the intake.

I had the factory Oil-in-Airbox fix kit fitted to my 961 last year.
the kit includes several parts designed to help the engine breather do it's job without spitting out volumes of oil into the airbox.
The small catch bottle that comes in the kit is fitted behind the left side footpeg plate and is undetectable.
My kit works perfectly.
I have put on about 600 miles since the installation, and the bottle is still dry, oil level in the tank is now constant.

The reasons for my purchasing the kit:

1. My oil level would have to be topped up every 3 or 4 outings.
2. Small areas under the bike in the garage were greasy due to dropping from the airbox drain hose. Like you are experiencing.
3. The main reason: noticing that upon startup after sitting for a few weeks, the airbox drain hose would push a fair amount of oil out.
I didn't notice this until much later and that was the final straw.

Thanks guys. Mine is just a hose with no plug. I bought a vent kit for the primary. Does it have the airbox kit with it? I haven't looked at it yet.

I just looked. It does not contain the drain bottle. How do I order the factory Oil-in-Airbox fix kit? I have no dealer within 2000 miles!! Lol.

The airbox kit is composed of several parts.
I don't know if Norton will sell just the bottle.
Here is a list of the parts with part numbers.
You want the Drain Bottle.

Are there any instruction on installation of the kit? Perhaps in presented Technical Service Bulletin TSB No: 00014?
