Access Norton Pub ; have a look
Never looked to hard on the other side of the forum, but it’s worth a craic, put my first Thread on for those that wanna see me with the retro look https://www.accessnorton.com/Norton...wback-pictures-of-your-our-my-bikes-me.28807/. & here’s a preview

I think you may have just started what may become one of the best threads on this site... bad saddles and all...!

Hello Richard , How long ago was that ?You look like a young kid !

FA cup final day 1977, I was 16, I got the bike with a £50 deposit & it was £14 a month Hire Purchase ( that’s credit) , I crashed it into a moped that pulled out in front of me outside the IN entrance to local hospital, sounds convenient but the accident dept didn’t open for 2 hours , 10 stitches in knee & It was my first day at work ,so off sick on day one !

As a poor student the helmet and my Norton were my two prized possession, my only possessions apart from my record collection... it took another 6 months to get a half-decent jacket and boots :)

Hey Mark, was that the Premier helmet with the Maltese cross on the side ?
Yes indeed, and on top, think it was called the red baron.... saved my life, had a dent in the rear the size of a clenched fist, I broke a few bones but my brain was saved.... hang on, I did go and buy a 961 in later years so maybe it wasn't so good after all loooool

It would have been very cool if it was me Rich as I was just starting secondary school in ‘79 !!

I did dabble with hot Japanese stuff though, starting with GSXRs in the late ‘80s and culminating in acquiring a Japanese wife some years later !!
