before we get back to our regular (anti-sump, best oil, carb cleaning...) programming.

It has been over 40 years since I was last able to push a fine British motorcycle thru high speed twisties.
My current Commando 750 Combat performed beautifully yesterday thru the high mountain roads of northern NM.
The motor was truly singing. Love my Dunstall replica pipes.
It is very strong between 4K and 6K RPMs.
Fantastic scenery too!
What a pleasure it was.
Old memories made new again.
And maybe better!

A very short story - wish i had video

You mean it is possible to actually take these things out an ride them on the open road!!
im sure it will never catch on an even if it did someone will object to the way your riding or something else.

I've ridden in Northern New Mexico a couple of times, but missed that fantastic-looking piece of twisty road. I'm fond of US 64 from Taos to Cimarron.

Say tomspro, those rides do good for the soul. You sort the Commando out on your own?

nothing ever accomplished alone.
very grateful to local expert Commando John (1up3down) and his friend Gary for wrenching help.
many good parts and advise from Old Britts, CNW, Mark Schmitz (mschmitz57), Jim Comstock, and others....
AN both a blessing and curse. just have to wade thru the mud to find the gold.

Well done tomspro, must be a sweet ride.

I looked up Fenton Lake, NM on Google earth - good stuff.

An old riding buddy summarized it nicely for me: some of the best rides are where you have no particular direction nor place to be; just ride.

Nice roads & bike. Oh & P.S. Mine is great in town, great on the freeway & even better on long open roads. Not as quick as the Ducati but way more graceful & pleasant to ride.
