Do any of you 961 owners live around Oxfordshire?

I'd like to meet up and 'chew the fat' as I can't seem to permenantly shake off the interest that comes and goes from time to time in adding one of these to my shed!

There is H cafe in Dorchester, or Cassington on Monday evenings, as potential meeting points.

Please reply here or via PM if you're up for meeting for a cuppa or a pint and a chat.

Tell the truth, is it the talk of throttle wheelies that got you?
I used to do those on my Zook 80 when I was a kid. Maybe pulled up on the bars a little

As if such juvenile carry-on would be of the slightest interest to me ...

Really laughing out loud.

Hopefully I will be a new owner and I'm in Oxfordshire, I do frequent the Dorchester Cafe. I'm in the process of purchasing a 961 Sport, you may well of read my post!

Throttle wheelies were really easy for me on my T140 with a sissy bar. Tap the gas, girl goes flying back to the sissy bar, front came up. Wasn't always intentional, but it looked really cool.
Have a great time on your Norton. Two is always better than one.

Eddie, you need to talk to Peter Scatchard, the Oxford branch chairman I think. At their Cafe day the other Saturday I asked about his arm which was in a sling. Apparently his 961(loaned?) punted him off when a rear axle component broke. Not sure of the details though.

We can confirm that Mr Scatchard did indeed have the privilege of taking a 961 Café Racer (as he does every year, with the same motorcycle) for a ride the other week on loan from the factory and it was involved in a single vehicle incident. We take reports of an unsafe motorcycle VERY seriously here at the factory and I can confirm that upon thorough investigation of the damaged motorcycle by the engineering team here (myself included) there was no mechanical failure to cause the incident. If anyone has any further quires you are very welcome to call or email me at the factory to discuss.

Thanks for the feedback. this is exactly the kind of communication we need to start clearing up all the misinformation about the 961's

I know you have a full time, and important job, but if you could spend a small amount of time reviewing this forum it would be appreciated by everyone here. Please keep up the good work

John

Thats good to hear. No slight intended to Norton and only repeating what I was told.
