According to the Commando Workshop manual 06.5146, max torque:I seem to recall mention in the manual that even though you can rev a Mk1 to 7000rpm in the heat of battle (so to speak), the "sustained" limit is 5800rpm. Superblend bearings or not, the crank is doing a fair imitation of a jump rope at that speed and the crankcases are like a vibrating wine glass right before it shatters. Ignition, carburetion and gearing should all be tailored to personal usage with those impersonal limits in mind....right?
