Well, its one of those purchases that seemed like a great idea at the time... Ha. I bought a 1973 Triumph Trident in very nice running condition. I am in Austin now and the bike is in San Jose.

The problem is the seller I've purchased from is in a very nice gated community and I am having difficulty getting a delivery company that will work with that. Looking for suggestions. Any ideas?

[Edit: I'll just work through U-Ship... had to tell Haul Bikes to get lost along with some money... but my fault for not reading the fine print, verifying the location was accessible, and buying from a frumpy seller. I'll make myself feel better by buying more bling for my Commando. Ha.]

If it is a nice running bike, why can the seller not take it to the closest location from them that a big rig can pick it up (If that is the problem)

Exactly! That's what I would do. But then again, I don't live in a gated community so maybe I just don't understand. Ugh.

Tough deal. Maybe an AccessNorton member nearby can fetch it and meet the shipper at a good pickup location for a few bucks? I would if it were near me.

J.C.Motors & Keyboard have both done WalMart parking lot pickups/dropoffs for me.

I DO NOT, AND WILL NOT, RECOMMEND ANYONE BUT THISE TWO SHIPPERS, EVER. I've used both more than a dozen times each.

Thanks Paul! The Triumph is on its way and we will find out soon enough.

Shipping has gotten so expensive now due to gas prices, etc. that it really doesn't make much sense unless the bike is within a long day's drive. Makes me want to get a rig and do some hauling every so often.
