Just thought I would add some pics of the new bike, mostly original ,matching numbers , been catching up on some maintenance, will be doing new stanchions and all fork mods with JS motorsports tech sheet and have collected all parts for that now , swingarm not bad but want to fit the split clamps etc .My Matchless 500 is work in progress , I just made the muffler , and soon I will be doing the Big end bearing and checking what the previous owner had done ,some was good other bits no so good . Head and barrel just sitting there in this pic no pushrod tubes , I have ridden it in my paddock ! .Cheers

Very very nice but I'm a little biased. These pictures could have been taken here about 3-4 years ago. My '72 Norton was signal orange then and I had a '51 350 Matchless nearly identical to your 500. The Norton is now back to its original yellow and I sold the Matchless on. Someone just had to have it. I miss that Matchless but I still have a '61 G3.

Thanks Russ , ive had a lot of good comments on the orange, it will be very cool to get the Matchless on the road , these are my very first English Classics,I always wanted a classic bike but paying off the house got in the way ! I'm going quite well on the gear changes so far , I have my dads old 76 GL1000 , been in the family 30 years and have to really think about gears now ,i have other old Honda trials bikes too, I've Mainly been into muscle cars .Cheers
