72 Speedometer

I've been collecting missing bits and pieces for my 72 Combat and am about ready to start putting it together. Looking closer at the gauges, the speedo is the earlier style with different font and the solid globe. Of course, I'd like it to match the tach, which is correct for the year with a serrated globe. If you have a junk speedo I'd like to buy it. Or if you know where I can find the correct dial for a 72 - that would be good too. Thanks! And happy New Year!

Thanks L.A.B. That's a start. But I wonder about the 'back order' status.

I've been servicing and repairing airhead BMW gauges for about 17 years, so making a Smiths like new isn't a problem. What IS a problem is finding the correct face for the 72. Is there anyone silk-screening these faces? My other option is finding a junk gauge for the face. The bike is in parts and won't be needing a speedo for some time yet, so I'm not in a rush.

Email him: see what he has got. he might have it. He has all the original smith tooling.

In the meantime, another forum member, who's also local, has a complete speedo head he'll sell me. I'll see him today at the monthly meet.
