Can anyone tell me or show a pic of how the tail light harness is run from the battery box area to the tail light? Thanks

I don't know how its supposed to run, but I ran mine alongside the mudguard, to hold it in place I drilled a small hole in the edge of the mudguard (it's stainless steel so no concerns about corrosion), then used a cable tie through the hole to hold the wires in place. Almost invisible once the seat is fitted. At the light itself I ran the cable under the fibreglass cowl and out to retrofitted indicators and the back light itself.

This is an 850 Mk3 but it's basically the same so through the hole with the grommet then clipped to the right hand frame tube and into the space beneath the tail lamp fairing.

LAB's right. Originally had rubber ties securing the cable to the frame. No such thing as plastic wire ties in 1971
