68 Commando lower distributor bolt

Hi guys just wanna double check something does the lower distributor bolt on the 68 commando enter from the outside ie: primary side and nut onto the inside of the timing side where the chains are?

Following my Genuine Norton Villiers workshop Manual theres a photo that shows it with the nut onto the inside side of the timing chain compartment. Someone mentioned it on a fb group that I had it backwards just wanna check its not had some update at some point thats not in the manual.

It should be a shouldered bolt, item '15' (NM25105)? According to the AN page, it looks as if it is supposed to go on the outside?
As it is a shouldered bolt, that could be the only way it does fit?

That's the later starter motor blanking plate setscrew '48'. With nut '50' and split pin '49' (and washer 44?) on the outside.

Hi mate thanks for the reply yep was a new bolt from Andover as you say shouldered bolt forgot about that.

An the Gen NV manual has a photo that clearly shows the nut on the inside where the chains are

The lads obviously getting mixed up with his commando years had the 68 engine confusing a few people on there.

Unless I read it wrong, yesterday I learned on FB my left hand MK2A side cover should have two Dzus type fasteners, one at the usual location and another it seems at the top face like a Mk111 (Instead of a pin and grommet)
You learn something new there every day.
