650 update ??

Hi Max same here 63 had my right knee and shin bone replaced recently now cannot start my J P N commando i have had from new also cannot cannot change gear on my 916 cafe racer looking to have both modified so i can ride them.Am i right in saying Clem and others have left the company.
John, yes Clem has left Norton.
Ref your JPN, I would highly recommend the cNw electric start. I’ve fitted it to my 11:1cr 920 Commando and it works perfectly.
PM me if you want more details, not sure how far you are from Oxford but you’d be welcome to come and have a up-close look if you wish.

The crowd funding request is out there, it will be done via crowdcube website, if it does not raise the sum needed the money is not released. What if the sum is not raised? What is the plan B?
Who's in then to raise the money for the bikes to be made. Time to see who the true brand supporters are it seems.

Supercharged Nigel !
650 update ??
650 update ??

Very Nice ! And supercharged . What is really great is you can't see the supercharger , its all tucked in and hidden . What would that be 50% more HP or better ? And more torque .

If this thing is a good runner , it will really set Norton apart from the field finally .

I take it you have heard nothing of your order for a standard one.

Correct. No. Nothing. But I’m in no rush. They have to get these bikes right. And they have to get the production and supply chain processes right. Even then, I’m in no hurry to be an early customer...

But as I understand it, that’s all a bit academic really. SG stated he needed £5m to start production of the 650s which they haven't yet got...

And... a supercharged 650... that needs proper development. The charging system and associated fuelling and cooling etc needs developing. Come on, let’s be honest here, Norton struggle with the fuelling on the 961, and this new charged 650 will be a very different ball game. Plus the effect of all that extra power on the engine and chassis needs real road and track test miles. Realistically, that’s gotta be at least 2 years away from being in customers hands IMHO.

Anyone investing will help to pay for the 15 million pounds misappropriated from the Commando 2012 Pension fund. Wake up guys
And the 7 million security with Metro Bank, plus the 4 million government loan.
Gino is right, read the info out there in the public domain, you may see things differently.
It will need more than a crowdfund to help, 5 million may help to get the 650's built but then what, from the last audit the profit per unit sold and that included bikes where a deposit was taken being counted as sold and delivered, was too low to even cover the fees on 5 million.

So, I got to wondrin’ how many 650 orders they might have taken...

We can’t get that info of course, but we can use this site of hardcore Norton fans as a sample group...

So, how many people on this site have ordered any version of a 650?

I’m currently only aware of the following:

1. 961al: SL
2. Fast Eddie: SL

Any more...?

Don’t all shout at once...

I don't think we can buy here in the states. No importer/dealer or bikes available .

Per SG indication on Twitter, the Superlight 650SS with the carbon frame and supercharger will be a different model to the standard Superlight 650

I’m even more intrigued now...

If only two people, on this site of hardcore Norton Nutters, have ordered a 650, how many orders have they really taken ??

Must be somewhat less than I was thinking...
