well, stone the crows...

As many of you will know, I’ve gone around the houses a few times thinking about a new 961.

Well, for reasons that I’m not entirely sure of, today I’ve only gone and put a deposit down on a 50th anniversary Cafe Racer!

I blame you bleeders, if it all goes pear shaped, it’s your fault...

well done No more standing on the sidelines go for it.

Warms the cockles of my heart. Can't say you'll come unscathed with all the little niggles involved, but you're sure going to love the ride.

Brand new project bike. COOL!

Congrats.

A few short years ago, I might've done the same if I had the play money to do so. Alas, my time came and went, never to return. I'm seriously downsizing.

Pix ASAP, eh?

Too late!

Abandon all hope, you who enter here.
Through me you pass into the city of woe
Through me you pass into eternal pain

Just joking.
It's really a wonderful machine, small warts and all.
You'll be glad you bought it, once you get over the guilt of spending all the money.;)
Enjoy it.

Cheers

Well it's about time, congrats, may your experience be as good as mine, in 4 years mine has only demanded gas, oil, and air...and maybe some wax!

Thanks all.

The colour will be solid black, gold pinstripes. The anniversary models are supposed to have metallic paint options, but I wanted plain old solid black.

They are a bit of a bargain, lots of carbon and extra polishing, even a paddock stand and cover thrown in. Bought separately it’d cost over £21k, they’re selling them for £16495.

The only extra I ‘had to buy’ was a carbon chain guard. Currently contemplating carbon wheels, but they a bit expensive for my taste, so jury still out on that one.

All that extra polishing isn’t really my thing, so they agreed to make all of that stuff black, black chassis pack, black Ohlins forks, etc. all in the price.

Even though they’ve only sold a handful so far, I reserved myself number 50. I thought number 50, of 50, celebrating the 50th was kinda cool!

It won’t go into production until the new year, I really hope to get it by spring. That gives me some time to read through Richard’s manuals and get my order in to cNw for the necessary bits n bobs!

Anybody wanna buy a BMW...?

Wow, £16495. That is a great price.
I personally also prefer the black Olins.
Also, I'd like to have black triple trees, and black rims/spokes too.
The blacked out cylinder barrels on the new California is nice.

How are you gonna wait until the spring?

You are getting a lot of options for the money . If I could get a fair trade in I would consider the California for sure.

Eddie,
Good for you, but are you sure? It's not electric. It's not a Harley. It's not a BMW. It will match your boots. Are you screwing with us again? Real happy for you but I sure hate to see you sell a bike to get another. You can't have too many motorcycles.

Charlie
