Have a 1971 Commando roadster, stock 750 with 30 mm Amals. When ordering replacement carbs- Premiers or old -style original, do I need to check / specify the 3/32" clearance on the inboard flanges? Or accept do it myself if they arrive without clearance? Planning on ordering from Hitchcock's in UK. I E-mailed with my info and they replied, suggesting only 850's need trimming :

(Can you supply Amal Premier carb set for 1971 Norton commando , having edges of carbs trimmed properly to fit both without touching? Thanks Doug)
------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you confirm that your Norton Commando is an 850cc Mk 1?
The AMAL listing dates these from 1973-1974 – these are the carburettors that have to have 3/32 inch removed from the throttle stop boss.
If the Norton is a 1971 750cc the carburettors will be different.
Kind regards
Richard
