After replacing one with a roller I found it needed a lot of playing with to get the end float correct. Don't think it was a big issue with the Dommies and an uprated ball bearing was preferred by Hemmings who is THE box man. If anything the bush for the layshaft (very difficult to get out) can cause the layshaft to move around and is the one neglected .Selector springs seem to vary in shape ,I bought 3 from different places. None were perfect,2 got slung!.
