1965 Zweirad Union 49 cc.

Been offered this basket case for a grand. 115/155 Plate Banana style Victoria. So would this be worth restoring. Best styling of them all , I.M.O. , Is it valuable ? :)

Undoubtably.
With a whopping 49cc, Royalty will be beating a path to your door, with gold bars in hand.

Good Luck !!

P.S. Maybe we should request a pic of it first, in case its a case of mistaken identity ?

In case you hadn't spotted it, we really have no idea on this.

We assume its something along these lines.

Moped forums may give you a better idea, these are really not mainstream machines outside Europe. (?).

As always, restoring something is entirely dependent on starting with something reasonably complete,
and the better the condition the better....

Thanks Rohan and yes , that is the model in the distinguished photo. I love the styling ,very futuristic. Painfully little info on the vehicle and few parts available from Europe. Apparently it's all there with an extra mighty 49 cc. engine too. Stored for 40 years in a dry garage but all in pieces ,paint all flaked off. Comes with another one ,different boring regular model ,running . 1 Grand for both ,but I'd like to know collectibility value of the 115/155 model Banana type before taking the plunge. Jay Leno has one but not about to phone him up. Who might know ? Is there a forum ? :)

The cost is certainly not outrageous, so if you want one, go for it.

Whether you will make any $$ is another question entirely.
Depends on how you value your time, probably.

Just mentioning that Jay Leno has one should clinch a sale...

Google for moped forum, and select one that you like ?
Dedicated, by the look of them..

Nifty.

1965 Zweirad Union 49 cc.

Not really a moped, since it doesn't have bicycle-type pedals, but a very futuristic style small motorcycle, particularly for 1965.

Each to their own and all of that!

Gotta ask though... These were built 50 years ago and folk keep saying how futuristic they were... If that were the case, where are the later / more modern bikes that look the same?!?
