1964 G15 MK2 carburation

I guess you refer to the viton tipped float needle. If carb bodies are original, they will probably need to be sleeved. I have done the same with Concentric carbs. Throttle valves should be hard cromed or replaced by valves made of brass as in new Monoblocks now offered. Rattling throttle valves will affect fuel mixture and if they allow false air to pass, mixture will be too rich I think.

Hi Knut,
who supply the new throttle valves for monoblock?
Thank you.

Hi All.
My bike starts and runs very well.
But the right spark plug is a nice white/brown while the left is very fooly.
The good spark plug is on the chopped monoblock side while the fooly one is on the monoblock float side.
Suggests are very welcome because is my first time with monoblock.
Thank you.
Piero

To day another ride of 60 km.
The left spark plug (air one turn unscrewed more than last time) were a good brown on electrod but soot around insulator side (bit less than last time).
The right spark plug (that was very good the last time) were lean and without soot.
The news were that the bike started not to first kick as usually but after a while.
Magneto seems to work well, the spark is deep.
Suggestes are always very welcome.
Ciao

Re carbs, if ingition timing is spot on on both cylinders, you may not get equally adjusted pilot screws if one is more blocked than the other. The pilot holes in the carbs on old bikes are notorious in getting partly blocked, and I find from my own personal experience that blowing them out while dismantled with a 125 psi air line whilst first having one thumb blocking the pilot jet, then the hole in front of the slide, at the bell mouth checking I get a nice flow of air coming through with the carb held close to my cheek. A worn needle and needle jet on one ( or both) can also give you confusing plug reading, as can a worn slide(s).

Best to get a newly made cam ring than try to reshape ramps. Newly made ones are CNC machined and are spot on 180 degrees. All one has to do is be certain the point gap is the same on both ramps by centering the ring in the housing, and the timing will be spot on in both cylinders. Slick
Any idea where you can get new CNC K2F cam rings, please?

Thanks, but they have no stock.

Baxter has NOS Lucas for US$150. Not sure I would trust NOS Lucas to be good as newly made CNC. ....... https://www.baxtercycle.com/product/458725/

Prices have gone up 50% since I bought a cam ring in 2013.

I am sure Doug Wood who rebuilt my mag, can get them. Dougwood@netzero.net. You might mention you are in the UK, perhaps he will refer you to his source.

The current exchange rate is not good for you.

Slick
