Does anyone know what type of petrol taps were fitted to the 1962 Model 50/ ES2 David

Possibly a ewarts as fitted to the Dommies ,not easily found . The main problem is you need a single tap with a reserve function and a decent standpipe in the tank . The Ewarts type were marked to explain the action . pull for on, then turn and pull again for reserve.

I’ve got this style, advertised as correct for Atlas, ES2 etc. the Indian copies are crap. I got a much better Brit made one from Hitchcock’s, but the stand pipe was still too short and I had to make a sleeve to extend it. They don’t show it on their website anymore. I think the Edwarts type would be much better, if you can find one!

This is the style used for Atlas, at least early,1962 to perhaps 1964, and perhaps beyond.

The one shown above may work for an ES2, or Model 99, but IMO has insufficient flow rate for a 650 Dommie or 750 Atlas.

This is an Ewarts, Pull On Main; twist 90 degree, Pull for Reserve. Actually, the second pull merely locks the tap in the Reserve position.
