True ,but I went there ...,the bore is good and has not moved about and I only need new seals/piston internals. Oh and yes it says Norton Lockheed on it - cast in ! One day your Brembo- AP-Grimeca could do the same thing and then you will be asking about where to get new seals /piston too...But yes I am keeping an open mind on this end of the prob. O.k. Just took a very fine flat file to remove the binding marks-areas of this hard-plastic piston after removing the inner seal and o-ring of this assembly . Carefully dressed the 13mm hard plastic piston all the way around circumferance. Nice friction free sliding fit in bore now, the seals were perfect but soaked them in rubber conditioner gel for half an hour regardless to make a tad softer. Now convinced that after 4 years in clean DOT 4 the piston decided to swell a tiny little bit, enough to stick up in the bore . Re -assembly in the morning. Optimistic.

Well, I'm guessing ya want to retain the look of the "stock" lockheed caliper. But ... if you just want a brake that works REALLY great, and cheap; I bought this brand new Nissin one off of "fleabay" for 50 bucks awhile back. Works a treat too !!!

Nortriubuell, tell me how to obtain such unit, just bled brake for a long time and obtained no pressure to speak of. Bubble central. Oh well , didn't work anyways so had to try somethin'. Hmmm .. different braided line hook up too ,switchgear ?

Try this, http://www.mikesxs.net/products-71.html#products , Most all this stuff is 100% applicable. Price is right, rebuildable, $220.00 performance at a fraction of the price. Be careful, many choices. Be sure to pick one for a single disk unit.

Pickup one of these while your there. Part #15-0677

After unsuccessful bleeding one trick is to turn bars fully left so master cylinder is at highest point. Squeeze lever. Tie lever back to handlebar with big rubberband or bungee. Leave overnight. I had to do this and it worked.

Also, are you bleeding upwards from the bottom fitting using the syringe and hose that comes with the 13mm conversion? (I have the Miles conversion sold by most of the US dealers.)

Ditto with what pvisseriii writes !!! Mikexs.net has them $70- 80 bucks now, still a bargain; plus they come with the brake light switch. :D Bought my Nissin master cylinder from "fleabay" for 50 bucks ( I think) ... but then had to buy a brake light switch from Mikesxs !!! I bought the braided stainless lines from Drag Specialties. I had a post on this awhile back ... inexpensive-front-master-cylinder-upgrade-t8118.html

Mikexs p/n 15-0677 is for the "Reed type PVC valve" It's what I use and it works a treat !!! :D Here is the link, bout' half way down the page, http://www.mikesxs.net/products-40.html

Reed type PVC Valve
Reed type Positive crankcase ventilation Valve.
Valve hooks to engine top breather vent and allows expelled air out but reed
prevents air re-entering quickly so a very small vacuum is created in the
crankcase. A small power increase has been noted during dyno tests (most
notable on pre 77 engines) and the crankcase vacuum helps prevent crankcase
pressure from pushing oil past oil seals and case joints.

Picture below is the M/C I have on my Triumph T140E ... and I remember it actually WAS $54.00 on "fleabay"

O.K. ,the bleeding was a disaster at best so just ordered in from Mike XS one of those Yamahaha master cyl. with switch. Also a 13 mm rebuild kit for it for like when IT decides to pack it in and travel to the Happy hunting ground. If it actually says Yamahaha on it I could cover that up with a nice Norton Lockheed sticker or somethingy. Also ordered a universal 13mm. rebuild kit as an attempt to rectify the genuine resleeved article. Also ordered in the Reed valve . So easy and the total bill including shipping - $ 151.48 ! Cdn. Obviously my straight end braided hose line will not be able to fit into the new unit without an adapter end or a new braided so if anyone can help with this pre - issue would be much appreciated. Never thought of looking thru this massive site before placing order. Well had better load up the Beemer with camping stuff and set up at Riverside Park Niagara Falls , followed by a long next day ride to the Catskills.
