Interesting mods. I've often thought about doing the eccentric rocker spindle mod, as on Matchless/AJS twins, but I don't think it would really fix anything.

Don’t know what the birds’ nest of red wire on the gearbox does, but it doesn’t look like a good mod.

The oil cooler that turns with the steering may be asking the hoses to cope with rather a lot of movement.

Brain hurts .
Early model kicker . Why ?
Bundle of red wires with tape . Why ?
Brake and shifter . Why ?
Ugly oil cooler mounted wrong ?
Rose nuts unattractive at best .
Steel overhead oil line . Fracture time ?
Weird head steady creation .

Overthinking more than anything, too many things could go wrong with that set up, keep things simple for reliability I say, and surely he could shorten those red wires.

so rotation of the spindle is how valve clerance is adjusted? Sounds like a solution in search of a problem to me.

So many things
Rear brake and shifter swap
Dont see Dellorto's used often on Commandos.
Interesting fork brace/fender mount
Cant figure out whats clamped on the frame in front the motor, rectifier maybe?

It removes the screw & lock nut from the end of the rocker arm, giving the valve train an easier time. Probably not measurable in horse power terms.
I didn’t realise that’s what the mod was. That’s clever and definitely of benefit (doubters can just watch some of Comnoz’ old spintron videos to become convinced) !

Is it like an alien spaceship has been discovered.
I am enjoying the reactions.
We can't decide if it is foe or friend.
Send in the Army? Or crack a beer with the operator?
:)

When in doubt always crack the beer before sending in the Army.

Someone definitely worked in a machine shop. The oil cooler is one of the more interesting parts. Custom or period piece?
